Meet Sharon
Sharon is the oldest of twelve living children born to Lee and Elizabeth Boone. Sharon was a trailblazer for her younger siblings. Through athletics, academics, and musical prowess, Sharon paved a way for her eleven siblings who came after her.
Sharon graduated from Riley High School in 1994 with high honors. She attended Valparaiso University and was the first in the Boone family to earn a Bachelor's Degree. She excelled in her profession as a NICU nurse at Memorial Hospital in South Bend and Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, working both as a charge nurse and as a nurse educator.
Unfortunately, Sharon's professional career was cut short when she became increasingly ill. Unable to work outside of the home, Sharon begin to teach herself art as a form of therapy.
It is through art that Sharon has found her voice. What started as therapeutic scribbles blossomed into the thought provoking art Sharon produces today. She uses her art to bring awareness about the horrors of domestic violence, the struggles of chronic illness, and the winding road of recovery that she travels daily.
